Musica Impact

Musica Impact operates a range of Israeli and international programs dedicated to nurturing and advancing outstanding young Israeli musicians at the high school and university levels.

Through unique educational frameworks and the guidance of leading musicians and professionals from Israel and around the world, these programs provide exceptional opportunities for artistic and professional development.

Tonight’s concert marks the culmination of one of the organization’s flagship initiatives, SympHorizons, through which participants perform each year alongside leading orchestras on some of the world’s most prestigious stages. Last season, SympHorizons concerts were presented in Tel Aviv and at the Berlin Philharmonie. This evening, the program makes its debut on the stage of the Henry Crown Theatre in Jerusalem.

Musica Impact works in partnership with the Israeli Ministry of Education and its Music Education Inspectorate in delivering the “Atuda Le’Hatzlacha” (Pathway to Excellence) program, through which the high school students participating in tonight’s concert are nurtured as part of Israel’s future generation of exceptionally gifted young musicians.

In total, approximately 30 of Israel’s most outstanding young musicians will join the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Gal Alterovich, for a performance of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky‘s Symphony No. 4, following an intensive preparation process that has spanned several months.

The evening will open with Rhythm of the Heart, a work by the late young Israeli composer Uri Bar-Or, who was killed in action on 28 May 2024 at the age of just 21. The young musicians of the program will join this performance with profound respect and great emotion, considering it a great privilege to bring to life the work and honor the memory of a gifted and promising composer of their own generation.

The concert will also feature young soloists, winners of Musica Impact’s Annual Soloists Competition, who will showcase their artistry alongside the orchestra as part of this festive concert.

This concert offers a discount for JSO subscribers, but subscription tickets are not available for exchange.
