Hallelujah Festival (Yearly event)

Passion | תשוקה | شغف

5.12 – 27.12.2022

This year’s Hallelujah Festival is dedicated to the theme of Passion.

The festival’s opening concert features Orff’s Carmina Burana, as well as the world première of Hana Ajiashvilli’s Riddle, for soloists, choirs and orchestra, based on a short unsolved riddle by Rabbi Yehuda HaLevi, an ‘emotional work about temptation and passion that could kill’, according to the composer.

Also in this year’s festival - a special Christmas concert with the Baroque Orchestra Jerusalem , Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliette and the Symphonic Dances from Bernstein’s West Side Story, as well as Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle in a concert of what could be described killing desire; 'Alhub', a concert with Sharif and Firqat Alnur Orchestra – and a Classical Jazz concert with Yaron Gottfried and friends.

We would like to thank all the festival’s participants: Firqat Alnur OrchestraJerusalem Oratorio Chamber Choir , Tel Aviv Collegium Singers, Jerusalem Oratorio Capellate Choir, Ankor Choir, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Tel Aviv Collegium Singers, The Jerusalem Theater and the Jerusalem Municipality.
