Born to a family of musicians, Taran studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and upon graduating played as first English horn at the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra Moscow, at the Moscow Philharmonic and the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre. He has performed with some of Russia’s most prominent conductors, among them, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Simonov, Vladimir Fedoseyev and Dmitri and Mikhail Jurovski. Between 2012-14 participated in the Interlaken Classics Festival in Switzerland, to which he was invited by the main fund of the festival.
