Marina Ganshin

Marina Ganshin is the principal harpist of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, IBA. Ganshin started playing the harp at the age of 7 in the Special Music School of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of Music, St. Petersburg, Russia. After her repatriation to Israel she continued her studies and in 2006 graduated from the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts. She then entered the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music at the The Tel-Aviv University, where she received a B.A. degree in 2011.
Ganshin had played as a soloist with a number of orchestras in Israel, including the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, IBA. She appears regularly as a soloist, chamber and an orchestra player in Israel and abroad. In the past 10 years she took part in many festivals, including the Red Sea, the Abu-Gosh, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad and many more. At 2011 Marina received the second prize and a special prize for best performance of an Israeli piece at the First Israel Harp Competition. Since 2003 she has been the recipient of grants from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.
