{"id":3572,"date":"2019-03-15T11:36:11","date_gmt":"2019-03-15T11:36:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jso.co.il\/rage-%d7%9c%d7%aa%d7%96%d7%9e%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%aa\/"},"modified":"2019-03-17T08:43:52","modified_gmt":"2019-03-17T08:43:52","slug":"rage-%d7%9c%d7%aa%d7%96%d7%9e%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%aa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jso.co.il\/en\/rage-%d7%9c%d7%aa%d7%96%d7%9e%d7%95%d7%a8%d7%aa\/","title":{"rendered":"RAGE, for Orchestra"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">The name of this work and its motto are both taken from <strong>Dylan<\/strong> <strong>Thomas<\/strong>&#8216; &#8216;<strong>Do not go gentle onto that good night<\/strong>&#8216;,\u00a0 where Dylan writes (2nd verse): &#8216;Rage, rage against the dying of the light&#8217;.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">I have composed this poem for violin and electronics two years ago, and since then I could not stop thinking about the son, pleading with his father to continue fighting a futile war.<br \/><br \/>The work contains quotes and adaptations taken from previous works: <strong>Goose<\/strong>, for choir (1989), and the Jerusalem Piyyut &#8216;<strong>Ha&#8217;El<\/strong> <strong>Haira<\/strong> <strong>Ure&#8217;e<\/strong>&#8216; within the first movement, <strong>Kol<\/strong> <strong>Hanehalim<\/strong> , from the <strong>Mami<\/strong> Rock Opera (1986, with <strong>Ehud<\/strong> <strong>Banai<\/strong>) and music for Shakespeare&#8217;s <strong>Hamlet<\/strong> (Habima, 1986)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\"><strong>Rage<\/strong> is not a Symphonic Poem but rather three different &#8216;moods&#8217;, symbolizing also strong musical links to other genre choices in my past (mainly during the 1980&#8217;s, a decade in which I had my breakthrough).
