The Soloists Series
Outstanding players, full of expression - The Soloists Series includes ten concerts in which we will be hosting amazing soloists!
Among the soloists: Violinist Vadim Gluzman, who will be performing Beethoven's Violin Concerto and, together with an additional violinist (TBA), Bach's Concerto in d minor for Two Violins, BWV 1043, under the baton of Maestro Frédéric Chaslin - this concert also includes Prokofiev's Symphony No. 3. Maestro Chaslin will be also be hosting mezzo soprano Michal Doron and baritone Liviu Holender, in a wonderful concert in which we will be performing the overtures to 'Fidelio' and 'Leonore' No. 3 by Beethoven, Mahler's 'Des Knaben Wunderhorn' as well as a new work by Israeli composer Yossi Mar-Haim.
We will also be saying farewell to our principal flutist, Noam Buchman - the programme for this beautiful concert includes Mozart's Flute Concerto No.1 in G Major, k. 313, and Symphony No. 40, the overture to Beethoven's 'Coriolan' and Gronich's 'Jerusalem 3000'.
We will be hosting violinist Itamar Zorman on 'The Four Seasons' concert, under the baton of Frédéric Chaslin. The concert's programme includes Autumn from "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires" by Piazzola, Spring from Vivaldi's 'The Four Seasons', Ysaÿe's Chant d'Hiver (Winter Song), Concierto de Estío by Rodrigo - and Brahms' Symphony No. 1.
The beloved conductor Dmitry Yablonsky, a familiar face on our podium, will be hosting Japanese cellist Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi who will be playing Lalo's Cello Concerto, alongside Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 3, 'Polish' and the world première of a new work by Israeli composer Bracha Bdil - 'Streams', for orchestra. Mexican conductor José Areán and violist Gilad Karni will be arriving at the Henry Crown Symphony Hall for a wonderful concert, featuring Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 6, 'Italian', Berlioz's 'Harold in Italy' as well as Danzón No. 2 by Márquez - while Omer Meir Wellber will be guiding the JSO on a night featuring Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, 'Pathetique', Haydn's Symphony No. 44, 'Mourning' and Israeli composer Avner Dorman's Mandolin Concerto (with soloist Yaki Reuven).
Cellist Asi Matathias will be performing Shostakovitch's Cello Concerto No. 2, in a wonderful concert under the baton of Maestro Eliahu Inbal - a concert which also includes Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, while Mexican conductor José Areán and violist Gilad Karni will be arriving at the Henry Crown Symphony Hall for a wonderful concert, featuring Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 6, 'Italian', Berlioz's 'Harold in Italy' as well as Danzón No. 2 by Márquez.
We will also be hosting soloist Bence Szepesi (clarinet, saxophone, tárogató) for a special concert, under the baton of conductor Yeruham Sharovski, and the programme includes 'Oblivion', for Soprano Saxophone and String orchestra by Piazzola, Borodin's Symphony No. 2, Rhapsody for One Player and Three Instruments by Szentpáli, and Jazz Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra by Grgin.
The final concert of the Soloists Series will be under the baton of Omer Meir Wellber, who will be guiding the JSO on a night featuring Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6, 'Pathetique', Haydn's Symphony No. 44, 'Mourning' and Israeli composer Avner Dorman's Mandolin Concerto, featuring Mandolin player Yaki Reuven.
