Pianist Ofra Yitzhaki was described by the New York Magazine as “downright sensational” and by the Israeli Ha’aretz Daily News as “an Israeli artist of the highest order”. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Juilliard School in New York and is a winner of the Carnegie Hall Millennium Piano Book Competition.

With repertoire spanning from the early Baroque to our time, her engagements have taken her to musical centers such as New York’s Lincoln Center, Chicago Cultural Center, Germany’s Klavierfestival Ruhr, Berlin Philharmonie’s Instrument-Museum, Israel’s Tel Aviv Museum and Jerusalem Theater, Taiwan’s National Concert Hall and Korea’s National Arts-Center.

In the 2018/2019 season Yitzhaki will perform as a soloist with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, The Ramat Gan Orchestra, the Israel Contemporary Players and the Symphony Orchestra of Brandenburg, Germany. Yitzhaki avidly performs contemporary music: She gave the premieres of many Israeli and American piano works and collaborated with some of the best contemporary music groups internationally, such as “Ensemble Intercontemporain”, “United Berlin Ensemble”, “New York Virtuoso Singers” and “Stuttgart Vokalsolisten”. Her playing was recorded for the German Culture Radio, the Israeli classical music radio, and New York’s WQXR Classical, as well as for the Albany and Yamaha record labels.

Yitzhaki started her piano studies with Dr. Noa Blass and continued with Dr. Zecharia Plavin until her graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music and Dance. Subsequently, she received the Vladimir Horowitz scholarship to continue her studies at the Juilliard school, up to her graduation with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance. Following her graduation, she studied with Maestro Paul Badura-Skoda in Vienna, concentrating on the piano music of Bach and of the Viennese Classical composers.

Yitzhaki is currently on the Faculty at the Tel Aviv University, Buchmann-Mehta School of Music. She regularly serves as a jury member in competitions such as the Israel Prime Minister Prize for Composers and America-Israel Cultural Foundation Competitions.  She lives with her family in Tel Aviv.
