Pianist and composer, active in the contemporary music scene both in Israel and abroad, Assaf Shatil also takes part in the artistic team of the Musica Nova Ensemble as a composer, pianist, conductor, curator and producer. His compositions were performed in several festivals in Israel, such as Techtonics, The Israeli Music Fest, Photopoetics (Musrara), The Piano Festival and more.
In September 2017 Shatil began his composition doctorate studies
at the Santa-Cruz University, CA. Shatil has an M.A. in contemporary improvisation from the New-England Conservatory in Boston, MA, where he had studied with Ran Blake and Anthony Coleman, and a B.A. in Print and Jazz from The Concordia University, Montreal.
