Anat Morahg began her studies at UCLA, acquired her academic degree from the Tel Aviv University and also graduated the Lewinsky College of Education.
Having founded the Bat-Kol Girls’ Choir in 1984 at the Israeli Conservatory of Music, Tel Aviv, she has been conducting and teaching voice lessons there ever since.
In recent years the Bat Kol Girls’ Choir under her baton won gold medals and first prizes in many international choir competitions.
In April 2011 Bat-Kol Girls’ choir was awarded three golden medals and received the acclaimed GRAND PRIX (by achieving the highest score of all choirs in the contest, adults and young) in an international choir competition in Slovakia. Anat Morahg was awarded the competition’s Special Prize for Excellent Conducting Performance.
Anat Morahg has been conducting the Ma’ayan Choir since 1999. Her performances with Ma’ayan and Bat Kol include fully directed operas broadcasted on radio and television, official ceremonies, festivals and concerts in Israel and abroad.
In co-productions of both choirs Anat conducted the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra, the Ensemble of Israeli Soloists Rishon Soloists Ensemble, the Holon Stage Orchestra and other instrumental groups. On behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Education, Anat conducts seminars for conductors in vocal training and choir conducting.
