Almog Segal (1995) is an Israeli pianist, laureate of national and international competitions who regularly performs in recitals and festivals around the globe. He has played with all Israeli leading orchestras, including The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and recorded for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (“The Voice of Music”), for the Radio Television Hong-Kong as well as for the well-known label “Naxos”.

Among his prizes are: 1st prize in the “M. Clairmont Competition” (2018), 1st prize and “The Best Performance of an Israeli Composition Prize” in the “Voice of Music Young Artist Competition” (Israel 2018), 1st prize and Audience Favorite prize in “The 13th International MozARTe Competition” (Germany, 2017), 1st prize in “Piano Forever Competition” (Israel 2012 & 2016), 1st prize in “Pnina Salzman Competition” (2015) and 1st prize in “The Israel Chopin Piano Competition” (2011), 5th prize in “Agostino Depretis” competition (Italy, 2019) and more.

Almog has played with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (Israel), Kiev Virtuosi Orchestra (Ukraine), Aachen Sinfoniker (Germany), the Hong-Kong Academy Chamber Orchestra (Hong-Kong), Israel Symphony Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Israel Netanya-Kibutz Orchestra, Raanana Symphonette Orchestra, Ashdod Symphony Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra and Tel-Aviv Soloists Orchestra. He has worked with conductors such as: Alexander Hülshoff, Dmitry Yablonskyi, Yi-An Xu, Sharon Andrea Choa, Uri Segal, Vag Papian, Yaron Gottfried, Barak Tal and more.

In 2014 Almog was invited by the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition to be a jury member at the competition in frame of their young jury project. In 2015 he joined “Multipiano” – an international ensemble of 4 pianists, together they have performed in many recitals in 4 continents and lately recorded together with the Royal Symphony Orchestra concertos for 2-4 pianists for “Naxos”.

Almog started playing the piano at the age of 11. For 8 years he was taught by Luisa Yoffe, before his bachelor studies in the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, where he studied until 2018 with professor Tomer Lev. Today he is a student of the Hungarian pianist Balazs Szokolay in the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt, Weimar. During the past years, Almog has played in masterclasses with famous international artists such as Murray Perahia, Yuja Wang and Cristoph Eschenbach. He is a recipient of the AICF scholarships since 2012, and the DAAD grants since 2019.
